Tell Us About Your Home
Tuscarora as we know it
Tuscarora is the country southwest of Frederick where Route 28 follows the Monocacy down toward the Potomac: farms, horse properties and big houses on five and ten acres, with a few older homes near the crossroads. It isn’t a town with a center so much as a ZIP full of long driveways, and it sits between Buckeystown, Adamstown and Point of Rocks, so we’re nearby on the days we clean those.
The houses are large and the lots are larger, and both show up in the work. A barn or a paddock means boots and dogs at the back door, a well means spots on the glass and the taps, and a house with a two-story foyer and a lot of windows means the high dusting takes real time. We bring the two-step ladder and the high duster and plan the first visit as a deep clean. A typical first clean of a three-bedroom home runs about three hours for a team of two; here it often runs longer, and we say so on the phone. After that, about an hour or two per visit, depending on the home.
We clean homes all over Tuscarora (ZIP 21790), including near Tuscarora Road, Rocky Point Creamery and the Monocacy Aqueduct.

A little history about Tuscarora
Noland’s Ferry, crossed by Jefferson and Washington
Noland’s Ferry crossed the Potomac near Tuscarora Creek. It was licensed as early as 1735 and carried travelers on the old Carolina Road between Maryland and Virginia. George Washington stopped to eat at “Knowlands Ferry” on August 9, 1785, and Thomas Jefferson crossed there too. Monticello documents a crossing in July 1802.
