Green house cleaning in Frederick, MD

Every clean we do in Frederick County is a green clean. Green cleaning and PUREcleaning are the same thing here, not an upgrade and not an add-on. Our two main cleaners, a degreaser and a disinfectant, are made in our office from salt, water and electricity, and called electrolyzed water. Trust that it is both safe and very effective. The chemistry is certified by Green Seal, the disinfectant is registered with the EPA, and none of it has a perfume. We clean without leaving residue, odors or irritants behind, and that means a healthier home for you. This page is what’s in the bottle and why.

Call (301) 698-9204 for a same-day estimate, Monday to Friday, or send us the basics.

Step 1 of 2

The PUREcleaning process: how Maid Brigade's cleaners are made and used.

What’s in the bottle

An Annihilare system in our office takes salt, water and electricity and makes two solutions. One is hypochlorous acid, HOCl, the disinfectant. The other is a dilute sodium hydroxide, the degreaser. That’s the whole list. Nothing is trucked in, and there’s no plastic bottle waste, because we refill our own.

The Annihilare chemistry is certified by Green Seal. Our disinfectant, sold by Annihilare as Annihilyte, is registered with the United States EPA, registration number 92449-1. If you want the chemistry explained further than we can, Annihilare’s own site does it at annihilare.com.

We don’t use caustic chemicals, acids or alkalis. We don’t use bleach. If you’d rather we use a product of your own, it has to be safe for the team and in a labeled bottle, and it can’t be bleach or anything mixed at home.

What else is in the kit

Color-coded microfiber cloths and mops, so the cloth that cleaned the toilet never touches the kitchen counter; microfiber lifts the dirt off the surface instead of pushing it around. Vacuums with HEPA filtration and four separate filters, certified under the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Green Label program, so what goes in stays in and the air is cleaner when we leave than when we came. A flat microfiber mop that’s damp, not wet, which is why wood floors are safe with us.

For a home where someone has been sick, before a new baby comes home, in cold and flu season, for strong odors, or on a move-in or move-out, we can finish with PUREmist, an electrostatic sprayer that puts the disinfectant evenly across the cleaned surfaces and into the places a cloth can’t reach. It’s on request, at no extra charge; just ask when you book.

Why we clean this way

Rachel, who owns the company, has been cleaning homes since 1989, and this is her argument.

Indoor air is commonly two to five times more polluted than the air outside, and most of us spend most of our time indoors. Everyone breathes, and inhaling the added perfumes and deodorizers, the chemical additives designed to “smell good,” brings in chemicals that your body, namely your lungs, kidneys and liver, has to filter out. Prolonged exposure affects each organ. Less on the surfaces and less in the air means fewer health problems down the road, and that matters most for the people who spend the most time at home: babies and small children, who are on the floor and put everything in their mouths; pets, who lick the floors and absorb what’s on their paws; anyone with asthma, allergies or a sensitivity to fragrance; anyone pregnant; and anyone recovering from an illness or treatment, when the body is more sensitive to odors and chemicals. Cleaning with products that leave nothing behind means a house that smells like nothing when you walk in. That’s the clean we want to leave.

What it means for you

No chemical smell when you come home. No residue on the counters where food goes. Nothing in the air for a baby, an older parent, someone with asthma, or a dog that licks the floor. The same products in every room, every visit, with no exceptions for the tough jobs, because the chemistry handles them.

This isn’t an upgrade or an add-on. It’s how every clean works: house cleaning, recurring, deep, move-in and move-out, apartments and condos and offices.

Who asks for this

Families expecting or home with a new baby. Households with pets. Anyone with asthma, allergies or a sensitivity to fragrance. Seniors and the adult children who set up their cleaning. People who simply don’t want the house to smell like a product.

Questions people ask us

Yes. Hypochlorous acid is an EPA-registered disinfectant. It’s what we use on toilets, sinks and counters on every visit.

Yes. The degreaser handles the kitchen; the scrub and polish on the tile and the shower glass is the team’s work with the right cloths and brushes, and it’s on the list every visit.

Neither. There’s no fragrance and no bleach. It smells like a clean house.

There’s no residue and nothing in the air once we’re done. Most of our customers have a dog or a cat, and many have small children. If you want to read the chemistry yourself, start with the Green Seal certification and the EPA registration above.
