Middletown as we know it
Middletown is the town on Main Street, with its older brick and frame houses close to the road, and the valley around it: the subdivisions built since the 1980s on the edges of town, Foxfield and Glenbrook and the rest, and the farms and large lots out toward Myersville, Jefferson and the mountain. The older houses have the plaster, the wood floors and the steep stairs; the newer ones have the two-story foyer, the open kitchen and the finished basement. We clean both, and the list doesn’t change.
The valley is a drive, and most Middletown customers are out during the day, so most of them give us a garage code or keep a key with the office. Keys are number-coded, locked in our office at night, and carry nothing that identifies the address.
A typical first clean of a three-bedroom home runs about three hours for a team of two; after that, about an hour or two per visit, depending on the home.
Around Middletown (ZIP 21769), we clean homes in Glenbrook, Foxfield, Brookridge North, Woodmere, Jefferson Village, Middletown Glen, Fountaindale and West Middletown Estates. That includes homes near Main Street, Remsberg Park, Middletown Park and Middletown Branch Library.

Recurring regular cleaning, weekly, every other week or monthly. Deep cleaning for the older houses and for the holidays. Move-in and move-out cleaning. On-call cleaning, where you’re not on a schedule and you call us when you want a visit, some people every month and some twice a year. All of it with green cleaning products made in our office from salt, water and electricity, which means a healthier home, or a healthier office, for you.

A little history about Middletown
Platted in the valley between two mountains
Middletown sits in the Middletown Valley, between the Catoctin and South Mountain ranges. Michael Jesserong platted the town in 1766: 28 lots on 44 acres along the road west toward the Conococheague settlement. He began selling the lots in 1767. Source: Maryland State Archives
Christ Reformed Church, lookout and hospital
Christ Reformed Church’s brick sanctuary on South Church Street was built in 1818. During the Battle of South Mountain in September 1862, its steeple served as a Union lookout. After the battle the sanctuary was used as a hospital for wounded soldiers. Source: Christ Reformed Church, National Park Service (National Register)
A future president recovers on Main Street
After the Battle of South Mountain in September 1862, a Union officer wounded in the arm recovered at merchant Jacob Rudy’s house on West Main Street. He was Lt. Col. Rutherford B. Hayes of the 23rd Ohio, later president of the United States. His wife, Lucy, arrived on September 23, and the two left for Ohio on October 5. Source: Crossroads of War
