Myersville as we know it

Myersville is the town at the top of the Middletown Valley, just off the interstate: Main Street and the older houses on it, the subdivisions built around the town since the 1990s, and then the mountain. A lot of Myersville homes are up the roads onto South Mountain and Catoctin, on wooded lots with gravel drives, wood stoves, and a view that comes with leaves, dust and mud. Those houses take more time on the floors and the high dusting, and we plan for it. In town, the houses are easier and the parking is simple.

A typical first clean of a three-bedroom home runs about three hours for a team of two; after that, about an hour or two per visit, depending on the home. The office groups Myersville with Middletown and the valley on the same days.

Around Myersville (ZIP 21773), we clean homes in Ashley Hills, Meadowridge, Meadowridge Knoll, the Terraces of South Mountain, Deerwoods, Saber Ridge and Church Hill Estates. That includes homes near Myersville Elementary School, Greenbrier State Park, Doubs Meadow Park and the Memorial Park at Trolley Station.

A little history about Myersville

Townspeople built their own trolley line

In 1898 the people of Myersville brought the trolley to town themselves. They incorporated the Myersville and Catoctin Railway that year, and the electric line linked Myersville with Middletown and Frederick. Incorporated in 1904; the 1919 fire

Myersville was incorporated in March 1904, when about 150 people lived there. In 1919 a large fire destroyed many of the town’s businesses, and in 1931 the Myersville Volunteer Fire Company was organized. Source: Town of Myersville, Maryland Manual

Named for the Myers family

A 1932 history of the Middletown Valley says Myersville takes its name from the Myers family, one of the first families to settle nearby. Source: Middletown Valley history, 1932 (MDGenWeb)
