Cleaning after a renovation in Frederick County

The contractor is gone and the dust is everywhere: on top of the door frames, inside the cabinets, in the vents, on every book on every shelf, in rooms the work never touched. A post-renovation clean takes it out. It’s our deep clean with extra time, HEPA-filtered vacuums, and the add-ons a renovation needs, the insides of the cabinets, the sills, the walls and the windows. It’s charged by the hour, and it takes longer than you think, so we say so up front.

The service that fits is a deep clean with the renovation add-ons, or a move-in clean if the house is empty. Call (301) 698-9204 or send us the basics.

Step 1 of 2

What we do differently

Order. Dust settles from the top down, so we clean that way: ceiling fans, the tops of door frames and cabinets, the high shelves, then the surfaces, then the floors last.

The insides. Inside the cabinets and drawers, which a regular visit skips. Opening the windows to wash the sills and the tracks. Wall washing where the dust has stuck. Window washing. Vacuuming the curtains. Paint splatter off hard surfaces, and the adhesive left by tape, plastic and protective film. Each one adds time; tell us which you want when you book.

The vacuums. Ours have HEPA filtration certified under the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Green Label program, so the fine dust goes into the vacuum and stays there instead of back into the air.

The products. Made in our office from salt, water and electricity, Green Seal certified, no perfume, nothing left behind. A new kitchen shouldn’t smell like a cleaning product.

The rooms the work never touched. Renovation dust travels. Plan on the whole house, or at least the whole floor, and not only the room that was done.

What it takes

More time than a regular deep clean, and we charge by the hour for it. A deep clean of a typical three-bedroom home runs about three hours for a team of two; a renovation adds to that depending on how much dust there is and how many insides you want done. We’ll give you the estimate before the day, and on hourly jobs you confirm the final total with the team or the office before paying by cash or check. Jobs of five or more hours for a team of two may need a deposit.

We clean homes after a renovation all over Frederick County, including Frederick, Middletown, Woodsboro, Libertytown, Ladiesburg, Rocky Ridge, Jefferson and Sabillasville. See every town we serve.

Who this isn’t for

We come after the contractor is finished and the final inspection is done, not while the work is still going, and ideally after the crew’s own cleanup so we’re taking out the fine dust, not the debris. We don’t clean up hazardous materials or shampoo carpets. Debris, paint cans and leftover material should be gone before we arrive; if you need hauling, ask and we’ll quote it separately. A brand-new house that’s never been lived in is the new construction page.

How to start

Get a cleaner, greener, healthier home. Call (301) 698-9204, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, or send us the basics and we’ll call you back the same day with a free, no-commitment estimate. If you reach out over the weekend, we’ll get back to you on the next business day. Tell us what was done and when the contractor finishes. All of who we clean for.
