Monrovia as we know it
Monrovia doesn’t have a Main Street; it has Route 75 and Route 80 and the roads between them. Most of the homes are on acre-plus lots, with long driveways, outbuildings, and a mudroom that works harder than any room in a townhouse: boots, dogs, and whatever the yard brought in. Green Valley is the older cluster of neighborhoods toward Route 80. Landsdale, off Route 75, is the big new community built since the mid-2010s, with the open plans and the finished basements, and it’s still filling in.
Houses on acreage bring in more dirt and more dust than houses in town, and the floors and the high dusting take longer. We plan for it. A typical first clean of a three-bedroom home runs about three hours for a team of two; after that, about an hour or two per visit, depending on the home.
Most Monrovia households have a dog, in our experience, and often more than one. Tell us about the dog when you book; a separate room, a crate or daycare is your call, and we’ll let you know if the dog seems stressed while we’re there.
Around Monrovia (ZIP 21770), we clean homes in Green Valley and Kemptown. That includes homes near Green Valley Elementary, Kemptown Elementary, the Green Valley Center and Fahrney Branch Stream Valley Park.

A little history about Monrovia
A B&O water stop on Bush Creek
Monrovia grew up around the railroad. When the B&O built through in 1831, it put a water station here, and the village began to grow from then on. By about 1850 Monrovia had stores, a bark mill, homes, and grist and saw mills on Bush Creek. Source: Maryland Historical Trust
General store sacked after Monocacy
The Monrovia General Store, a frame building from about 1850, served the village into the 20th century. After the Battle of Monocacy in July 1864, Confederate troops sacked it. Source: Maryland Historical Trust
