Tell Us About Your Home
Jefferson as we know it
Jefferson is the village along Jefferson Pike, the old Route 340, where the houses sit close to the road, and the valley around it between Catoctin and South Mountain: subdivisions from the 1970s through the 2000s on the roads off the pike, ranchers and split-levels on the older streets, bigger colonials on the newer ones, and farms toward Burkittsville and Brunswick. People here commute on 340 to Frederick or down to Virginia, and the house is empty all day, so we usually get in with a garage code or a key kept at the office.
A typical first clean of a three-bedroom home runs about three hours for a team of two; after that, about an hour or two per visit, depending on the home.
We clean homes all over Jefferson (ZIP 21755), including near Valley Elementary, Catoctin Creek Park and Jefferson Junction.

A little history about Jefferson
New Town, nicknamed ‘Trap’
Jefferson began as New Town. Eleanor Medley’s deed for it is dated November 15, 1774, and the town was laid out on the road between Frederick and Harpers Ferry. With several taverns along that road, it picked up the nickname “Trap” or “Trap Town.” Local legend says travelers who stopped there got trapped. Renamed for Thomas Jefferson
In the early 1830s New Town and the neighboring lots called New Freedom were joined under one name, Jefferson, for Thomas Jefferson. A local account credits Dr. Charles McGill with the change, and his house still stands. Source: Brunswick history archive (Brunswick Citizen, 1999)
