Tell Us About Your Home
Frederick as we know it
Most of the homes we clean in the county are in the city, and they’re every kind: the brick rowhouses and townhomes downtown and around Baker Park, where the rooms are narrow and the stairs are steep and the team parks where it can; the 1960s and 1970s ranchers and split-levels north and west of downtown near Fort Detrick and Hood College; the big subdivisions south along Route 85 and in Ballenger Creek, where a typical three-bedroom first clean runs about three hours for a team of two; the newer townhouse communities east toward Spring Ridge and along Route 26 at Wormans Mill and Clover Hill.
Downtown parking is the one thing to settle before the first visit. Tell us where the team can put the car; if there’s a permit or a meter, that’s yours, and if the team arrives and has no place to park, that counts as a lock-out. Everywhere else in the city, a driveway is enough.
Around Frederick (ZIPs 21701, 21702, 21703 and 21704), we clean homes in downtown Frederick, Baker Park, College Estates, Whittier, Clover Ridge, Amber Meadows, Wormans Mill, Tuscarora Knolls, Fredericktowne Village, Golden Mile, Hillcrest and Carrollton. That includes homes near Carroll Creek Park and C. Burr Artz Public Library.
What we do in Frederick
House cleaning, once or on a schedule. Recurring regular cleaning, weekly, every other week or monthly, which is most of our Frederick customers. Deep cleaning before a party, the holidays or a listing. Move-in and move-out cleaning, which is steady work downtown and in the townhouse communities. Apartment and condo cleaning downtown and along Route 85. Office cleaning for the offices around us on Thomas Johnson Drive and the rest of the city. On-call cleaning, where you’re not on a schedule and you call us when you want a visit, some people every month and some twice a year. All of it with green cleaning products made in our office from salt, water and electricity, which means a healthier home, or a healthier office, for you.
We also clean for landlords and realtors and homes after a renovation in Frederick.
Nearby towns we also clean: Braddock Heights, Buckeystown, Walkersville and Ijamsville.
A little history about Frederick
County judges repudiate the Stamp Act
On November 23, 1765, the twelve judges of the Frederick County court refused to enforce Britain’s Stamp Act. They would not require residents to use stamped paper. Frederick remembers the day as Repudiation Day, and it is reenacted every year at City Hall. Source: Maryland Manual, Heart of the Civil War Heritage Area
Frederick Town laid out by Daniel Dulany
Frederick began as Frederick Town, laid out in 1745 by Daniel Dulany the Elder, who invited German settlers to make their homes there. When Frederick County was formed in 1748, the new town became its county seat. Source: Maryland Manual
Ransom of Frederick and the Battle of Monocacy
On July 9, 1864, Confederate troops under Gen. Jubal Early occupied Frederick and demanded a ransom of $200,000, or $50,000 in supplies for each of four army departments. The city’s banks were emptied to pay it. The same day, Early beat Union forces under Gen. Lew Wallace at the nearby Monocacy River. The battle cost him about 900 men and a day’s march, and Washington used that day to strengthen its defenses. Source: National Park Service, Visit Frederick
