Step 1 of 2

Libertytown as we know it

Libertytown is the crossroads where Route 26 meets Route 75: the old village along Liberty Road, with its brick and frame houses from the 1800s set close to the street, and then the newer homes on acre lots that spread out from it in every direction, toward New Market, Unionville and the Carroll County line. Most of the homes we clean here are the newer ones, two-story colonials from the 1990s and 2000s with a finished basement, a deck and a long driveway, and they come with a well, not town water.

Well water is the detail that changes the work in Libertytown. The minerals leave spots on the shower glass, the faucets and the inside of the kettle, and they need more time and more elbow grease than the same fixtures on city water. We know that going in and we build the time into the quote. A typical first clean of a three-bedroom home runs about three hours for a team of two; after that, about an hour or two per visit, depending on the home.

We clean homes all over Libertytown, including near St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department, Libertytown Park and Libertytown Academy.

What we do in Libertytown

Recurring regular cleaning, every other week for most Libertytown homes. Deep cleaning before the holidays and when the shower glass has gotten ahead of you. Move-in and move-out cleaning and listing cleans before photos. House cleaning once. On-call cleaning, where you’re not on a schedule and you call us when you want a visit, some people every month and some twice a year. All of it with green cleaning products made in our office from salt, water and electricity, which means a healthier home for you.

We also clean for homes after a renovation and people who work from home in Libertytown.

Nearby towns we also clean: Ladiesburg, Woodsboro, Walkersville and Keymar.

A little history about Libertytown

Laid out as ‘Liberty’ in 1782

In 1782 John Young, who owned a tract called Duke’s Woods, laid out 240 lots for a town he called Liberty, later known as Libertytown. The Maryland Historical Trust’s survey leans toward a link to the Sons of Liberty for the name, though no record settles it. Source: Maryland Historical Trust

A turnpike town the National Pike passed by

Libertytown grew as a turnpike town. The Baltimore-Liberty-Hagerstown Turnpike Company was chartered in 1815, and by 1858 a county map showed more than 80 buildings in town. When the National Pike and the B&O Railroad passed it by, Libertytown declined. Source: Maryland Historical Trust, Frederick County historic preservation

St. Peter’s Church and its 1912 Titanic memorial

St. Peter’s Catholic Church was begun in 1868 and finished in 1870, when Bishop James Gibbons dedicated it. It replaced a stone church from 1821. The church grounds include a 1912 memorial to the victims of the Titanic. Source: Maryland Historical Trust

Questions from Libertytown

Yes. Unionville and the roads between it and Libertytown are in our area, and we’re there regularly.

Most of them, with time and the right cloths. If the glass has been etched by years of buildup, we tell you what will come off and what won’t before we start.

By the hour for the first clean, quoted over the phone after a few questions about the home, the pets and what you want added. For recurring service we prefer to come see the home first.
