Move-in and move-out cleaning in Frederick, MD

A move-out clean is our full clean plus the insides: every cabinet, medicine cabinet and closet, the inside of the oven, fridge and freezer, and the baseboards, door frames and windowsills washed. It’s for an empty home: the one you’re handing back, the rental you’re turning over, or the house you’re about to move into. A team of two from our Frederick office does it by the hour, and we quote it over the phone the same day.

Call (301) 698-9204, Monday to Friday, or send us the basics.

Step 1 of 2

What’s included

Everything in our house cleaning list: bathrooms scrubbed and disinfected, the kitchen from the stove top to the floor, every room high-dusted, vacuumed and mopped.

Plus, for a move: inside the oven. Inside the fridge and freezer. Inside all the cabinets and drawers, the medicine cabinets and the closets, floors, shelves and rods. Baseboards, door frames, door tops and windowsills washed, where a regular visit dusts them. Light switches wiped; light fixtures, ceiling fans and vents dusted. The outsides of the washer and dryer, and the lint trap.

On request: the inside of the windows, wall washing, sweeping out the garage, and the trash taken to the curb.

If the last occupant was sick, or the house smells of something, we can finish with PUREmist, an electrostatic sprayer that puts our disinfectant evenly over the cleaned surfaces. Ask for it when you book.

Moving out

Tenants: a clean on the way out is what the walk-through is about. Our list covers what a landlord or property manager checks: the oven, the fridge, the cabinets, the bathroom tile, the floors. Tell us if your lease lists anything specific and we’ll include it.

Sellers: the deep clean before photos is a deep clean with the furniture still in place. The clean after the truck leaves is this one.

Moving in

The best time to clean a house is when it’s empty. Cabinets, closets, the oven, the fridge, behind where the furniture will go: none of it is reachable again for years. We’d rather be there the day before the truck than the day after.

Who this is for

Renters at the end of a lease. Landlords and property managers turning over a unit; see turnover and listing cleans. Realtors with a closing date. Buyers who want the house clean before the boxes go in. Anyone who just finished a renovation, which is its own page: cleaning after a renovation.

Not for: hoarding or biohazard situations, fire or flood cleanup, carpet shampooing, or hauling. We clean what’s there; we don’t remove what’s left behind.

What we clean with

Our two main cleaners, a degreaser and a disinfectant, are made in our office from salt, water and electricity. The chemistry is Green Seal certified, and our hypochlorous acid disinfectant is registered with the EPA. No perfume, so the house smells like nothing when the next person walks in. All of it means a healthier home for whoever walks in next, which may be you. More on green cleaning.

What it costs

Move-in and move-out cleans are priced by the hour and quoted over the phone. We ask the size of the home, whether it’s empty, what shape it’s in, and what you want added (windows, walls, garage). A home being handed back or sold is held to a higher standard than a clean for yourself, and we plan the time for it.

Confirm the final total with the team or the office before paying by cash or check. Jobs estimated at five or more hours for a team of two may need a deposit. If the team arrives and can’t get in, including no place to park, there’s a $50 lock-out fee, so make sure the keys, codes and parking are sorted before the day.

Our guarantee

Mistakes happen, and when they do we make it right. If any area we cleaned isn’t right, call the office within 24 hours and we come back within one business day to re-clean it at no charge.

Our technicians are employees, bonded and insured, covered by workers’ compensation and background-checked when hired.

What a customer said

★★★★★

We hired Maid Brigade to do a mid-year deep clean of our rental house. The woman that came out (Rosa) did an amazing job! Everything is clean and spotless. We will definitely be using this company again.

Questions people ask us

For a move-out, yes; we clean best when the furniture and boxes are gone. For a move-in we can work before the truck or during it. If some things are still there, tell us when you book and we’ll work around them.

Most move-out cleans of a three-bedroom, two-bath home run three to four hours for a team of two. Larger homes take longer.

A key, a lockbox code, a garage code, or someone meets us. Tell the office which when you book. If the team arrives and can’t get in, there’s a $50 lock-out fee.

Sometimes. We can often fit a move clean in within the week; call the office and ask, and give us the closing or walk-through date so we work back from it.

Sweeping out the garage, the porch or the patio can be added. Tell us when you book.

We vacuum them, with HEPA filtration. Carpet shampooing is something we’re working on, and we’ll have it available by 2027; if the lease calls for it, we can refer you to a carpet company.

Two people in Maid Brigade uniforms clean a large bathroom—one wipes the sink counter with a red cloth while the other cleans a high cabinet near a freestanding tub.
