New construction cleaning in Frederick County

The builder’s clean gets the house to a walk-through. Ours gets it to the day you move in: inside every cabinet, drawer and closet, inside the oven, the fridge and the freezer, the sills and door frames washed, the bathrooms scrubbed, the floors done last. It’s the one time the house is empty and everything is reachable, and we’d rather be there the day before the truck than the day after. Charged by the hour with extra time planned, because construction dust is in everything.

What we do differently

The insides. Every cabinet, drawer, medicine cabinet and closet, inside and out. The oven, fridge and freezer inside. All of it before anything goes in.

The dust. Top down: ceiling fans and light fixtures, the tops of the door frames and cabinets, then the surfaces, then the floors. HEPA-filtered vacuums certified under the Carpet and Rug Institute’s Green Label program, so the fine dust stays in the vacuum.

On request. Window washing, inside and out where we can reach from the ground or a two-step ladder. Opening the windows to wash the sills and the tracks. Wall washing. Paint splatter off hard surfaces, and the adhesive and stickers left by tape, plastic and protective film on the new fixtures and glass. A garage sweep-out.

The products. Made in our office from salt, water and electricity, Green Seal certified, no perfume and no residue. New floors and new counters get nothing on them but clean.

Getting in. A lockbox, a code, or you meet us. If the builder still controls the house, tell us who to coordinate with; we work with builders directly or with you, whichever the schedule needs. If the team arrives and can’t get in, including no place to park, there’s a $50 lock-out fee.

What it takes

Longer than a regular clean, and we charge by the hour for it. We ask the square footage, what the builder’s clean covered, and which add-ons you want, and we give you the estimate before the day. On hourly jobs, confirm the final total with the team or the office before paying by cash or check. Jobs of five or more hours for a team of two may need a deposit.

Who this isn’t for

We come after the builder is done and the final inspection is passed, and after the crew’s own cleanup, so we’re taking out the fine dust and not the debris. We don’t clean up hazardous materials or shampoo carpets. Leftover material should be gone before we arrive; if you need hauling, ask and we’ll quote it separately. A house you’ve lived in that just had work done is cleaning after a renovation. Once you’re in and want the house kept up, recurring regular cleaning is the next page.
