House cleaning services in Frederick, MD

A team of two from our Frederick office cleans your home on a set list, room by room, with products we make ourselves from salt, water and electricity. A first clean of a typical three-bedroom home takes about three hours; a regular visit after that, about an hour or two, depending on the home. We’ve cleaned homes in Frederick County since 1989, and the same employees come back each time, with a regular team assigned to your home.

Call (301) 698-9204 for a same-day estimate, Monday to Friday, or send us the basics.

Step 1 of 2

What’s included

Bathrooms. Full scrub and polish of the tile walls and the tub or shower floor. Glass doors scrubbed inside and out. Sink, mirror and cabinet fronts. Light fixture and fan dusted. Toilet cleaned and disinfected. Floor washed.

Kitchen. Stove top. Microwave inside and out. Outside of the oven, fridge and dishwasher. Cabinet fronts and backsplash. All counters and the small appliances on them. Sink scrubbed and polished. Trash emptied. Floor washed.

Every other room. High dusting of corners, high pictures and ceiling fans. Baseboards dusted. Furniture, pictures, lamps and knick-knacks hand-dusted, with items lifted to dust under them. Vacuuming under furniture as far as the vacuum reaches. Upholstered furniture and all floors vacuumed. Bare floors mopped with a flat microfiber mop that’s damp, not wet, so wood floors are safe.

The team brings everything: fresh towels, a high duster, brushes, sponges, scrapers, the cleaning chemistry, fresh mops, the vacuum with its attachments, buckets and a two-step ladder.

What’s not included unless you ask

Inside cupboards, drawers and closets. Dishes and laundry. Walls, ceilings, blinds and windows. Small or fragile collectibles and irreplaceable items, which we leave alone. We can’t move heavy furniture or lift anything over 25 pounds, and we can’t take responsibility for blinds, windows or screens that are already worn, fragile or broken.

Any of these can be added to a visit for extra time. Say so when you book, or tell the office before the day.

Who this is for

Most of our customers are on a schedule: weekly, every other week or monthly. If that’s you, start with recurring regular cleaning, which begins with this clean as a first visit and then keeps the house at that level. If you need the house done once, for a party, a listing, the holidays or just because, this page is the service, and we quote it by the hour. And if you want us more than once but not on a schedule, that’s our on-call service: you call when you want a visit, and we fit you in. Some on-call customers call every month, some twice a year, and some land anywhere in between. You set the task list and the room list; it’s a clean built for what you need. We can often fit a one-time clean in within the week, and many of our regular customers started with a single visit.

We clean for working parents, people who work from home, seniors staying in their own homes, and families with a new baby, and we change how we work for each.

Not for: hoarding or biohazard situations, fire or flood cleanup, carpet shampooing (we’re working on it, and we’ll have it by 2027), or organizing, which is a separate one-on-one service.

What we clean with

Our two main cleaners, a degreaser and a disinfectant, are made in our office by an Annihilare system from salt, water and electricity: hypochlorous acid and a dilute sodium hydroxide. The chemistry is Green Seal certified, and our hypochlorous acid disinfectant is registered with the EPA. We don’t use caustic chemicals, acids or alkalis. Color-coded microfiber cloths and mops keep bathroom cloths out of the kitchen, and our vacuums have HEPA filtration certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute. There’s no perfume in any of it; the house smells clean, and that’s all.

All of it means a healthier home for you. More on green cleaning.

What it costs

Every home is different, so we ask a few questions before we quote: how many people live there, whether there are pets and what kind, what the clean is for, and what extras you want, since the inside of the oven or the fridge each add time. For a one-time clean we price by the hour over the phone. For recurring service we prefer to come see the home first.

A card on file holds the appointment and is charged the next business day. Cash or check to the team supervisor on the day works too; confirm the total with the team or the office first on hourly jobs.

Our guarantee

Mistakes happen, and when they do we make it right. If any area we cleaned isn’t right, call the office within 24 hours and we come back within one business day to re-clean it at no charge.

Our technicians are employees, never contractors. Every one is bonded and insured, covered by workers’ compensation, and background-checked when hired. They arrive in uniform, in a company car.

What a customer said

★★★★★

2 friendly crew members spent 4 hours and did a wonderful job! We had an event and things came up and cleaning was last on the list. Very thankful that Maid Brigade was able to fit us in and do a splendid job that even my teenagers complemented! Will definitely use again and would recommend.

Questions people ask us

For a first clean of a typical three-bedroom home, about three hours for a team of two. Larger homes, homes with pets, and homes that haven’t been cleaned in a while take longer. We’ll tell you the estimate before the day.

No. About half our customers give us a key, which is number-coded, locked in the office at night, and carries nothing that identifies your address. Many use a garage or door code. If you’re home, the only thing we ask is that you check each area after the team finishes it instead of following them around, and tell the supervisor if anything needs more work.

Between 8 am and 4 pm. We text the day before with a closer window, and we can usually honor a morning or afternoon request, but not an exact time.

No. Tidying takes extra time, though, and time is what you pay for, so pick up clothes, toys and personal items from the floors and counters and the team gets more done in less time. If you’d like help with the tidying, say so. Put away anything valuable or fragile, or tell us not to touch it. A closed door means don’t clean that room.

Most of our customers have a dog or a cat and we’re used to them. A separate room, a crate or daycare is up to you. Tell us about the pet when you book, and we’ll let you know if it seems stressed while we’re there.

Two business days’ notice to cancel or reschedule, with no charge. If the team arrives and can’t get in, including no place to park, there’s a $50 lock-out fee.

Two people in Maid Brigade uniforms clean a large bathroom—one wipes the sink counter with a red cloth while the other cleans a high cabinet near a freestanding tub.
